2025 is almost here, and I have a few tips for leaders on how to survive it.

That’s right — this isn’t about thriving or building something new just yet. Save that energy for 2026. In 2025, we’ll need to focus on cleansing, letting go of what no longer serves us, and restarting with clarity and intention.

Before we start with 2025, feel free to revise what I wrote on 2022 and 2023 and yes predictions for 2024 I left to myself at some point.

Please note: when you read this text, keep in mind that I am actually extremely optimistic and hopeful for the development ahead. For me “things falling apart” doesn’t mean “wrong direction”. Hense the title of this article. It means what it says — decluttering. But as for any transition we need to be prepared to go through it mindfully and resourcefully.

So without further ado, meet 2025… the year of decluttering.

To navigate this year with confidence, here are my seven key tips:

  1. Anchor yourself in your own vision of the future.
The process of cleansing and letting go might challenge how others see the future. But you need to hold the space for your vision. Throughout 2025, take intentional steps toward building the future you envision for 2026 and beyond. Write it down, visualise it, tell it to someone else. You need to make sure you keep that anchor in order to land where you want to land in 2026.
  2. Be selective with your energy and resources.
Many old structures will fall apart this year. If something is truly built to last, it will survive without your constant intervention. Focus your efforts on areas that are stable and show resilience, rather than pouring into what’s crumbling.
  3. Embrace the lack of resources.
Resources — time, money, space, and energy — will likely feel scarce in 2025, and that’s by design. This scarcity invites a mindful revision of where you truly need to invest. Treat this as a learning experience: how can you invest very little and still gain a lot? Be deliberate, resourceful, and intentional with every choice you make.
  4. Establish a strong support system.
Whether it’s therapy, coaching, fitness, or something else that helps you process fears and struggles, prioritize consistent self-care. Let it be your outlet and your recharge. Also make sure that support system knows your vision of the future and helps you move towards it.
  5. Anchor yourself outside of your business.
Spend quality time with your family and invest in hobbies outside the hustle. Remember: You are more than your business. Your identity and worth are not defined by its results. And yes, you’ll survive even if the business doesn’t.
  6. Celebrate every win — big or small.
In a year of change, it’s essential to notice and savor the positive outcomes. These are your guideposts for where to double down and build momentum in 2026.
  7. Let go of control.
Ask yourself regularly: What am I holding on to that I need to release? This is not the year to dwell on the past. It’s a year for closing chapters, saying goodbye, and making space for what’s next.

2025 will be a year of transition, but by focusing on what truly matters, you can step into 2026 stronger, clearer, and ready to thrive.

How are you preparing for the challenges and opportunities ahead? Let’s discuss.
